Except, perhaps, for Adam & Eve?
Ooh! Good point. Wish I had thought of that.
how did satan tempt a person who has no wrong desires?.

i was walking around town and a guy on a bike comes up to and shoves a cardboard bum sign in my face with "jesus is the only way" written in classy sharpy marker.. check out this scripture:.
john 14: 6 - jesus answered, "i am the way and the truth and the life.
no one comes to the father except through me.. according to this scripture the guy's sharpy message was correct.. do you believe this message?.
Ghandi had Christ, even if he wasn't a christian and never made the proclamation of faith in Christ.
Ghandi was a pagan. What he possessed was decency and kindness.
Stamping the Christian brand on everything that appeals, is a cunning marketing move but fools no one. The Christ of the bible, is also credited with many threatening and vengeful plans for those that don't obey him.
Ghandi deserves to take the credit for his disposition or attribute it to his own religious faith. Trying to claim all that is good to be of Christ, regardless of who showed those good qualities looks a lot like plagiarism.
Next, the honorable actions of atheists will be stamped with the Christian brand. It is dishonest and does nothing to enhance the battered image of Christianity.

This is fascinating stuff PSacramento Is it found in a part of the bible that you do accept as inspired of God, or was it revealed to you by Jesus himself? Or do you make it up as you are borne along?
It's not my intention to be impolite. But you have to see how your statements appear to simple people like me who see Jesus as an historical figure who had a message for the Jews 2000 years ago.
To preach with such certainty and make so much out of so little, requires a source of reliable, even infallible, information. I am still unsure what your source is. The more I read the more confused I become.

It must be clear by now that Jesus is what ever you want him to be. He is limited only by our imagination.
He can be stretched and twisted. Turned inside out and outside in. Shrunk or expanded. Fly or walk , even on water. Be divine or human, even both at once.
He can be invisible or visible. God almighty or just God's son. King or priest. The man in sandals or a warrior on a white horse. He can be tempted and beyond temptation all at once.
He can dish out punishment or gifts. Trick or treat. Miracles are his speciality. He doesnt care whether you call him Lord, Jesus, Jehovah, Christ, God or just plain Michael. What a guy!
I wish that when I was a kid, I'd had a toy like that. All I had was plasticine.

What you were trying to say is that Christ was not divine when he was in the form of man. Simple see.
I get the impression that you are more of a slave to words than a slave of Christ.
The same reason that people profess to be married but do not really live by their marriage vows.
As humans we want it both ways!
dear ones.
rather, it is our adversary who says we will do anything... anything... to avoid it.
a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. even curse god to his face.
It does appear that the long battle on this thread is approaching an end. Due to my experience in the arena, I know when a fight can never be conclusive, so I bowed out 3 days ago to silently lick my wounds.
NVL you have put up a brave fight and made many good points.
AGuest you have provided your usual avalanche of prose. To not add or take away from the bible used to be sacrosanct. We only have a few pages of the words that Jesus is credited with saying. Yet, on this forum you have spewed out enough of your personal views to create several new bibles.
This has been entertaining but I am left wondering whether such a vocal and complicated personal view of the bible actually does more to make people turn away from the Christian message than listen?
I am beyond redemption, but if your aim is to convince people that you have a special relationship with Christ Jesus; or that you faith is based on more than guesswork, you may need to re-examine the way in which Jesus is reported to have conducted his ministry.
Peace to you - a slave of life.
exodus 20: 13 - you shall not murder.. vs. exodus 12: 29 - at midnight the lord struck down all the firstborn in egypt, from the firstborn of pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.. i believe this is a classic case of "do what i say, not as i do.".

They are just words in a biblica of ancient notes, fairy-tales and assertions.
Who the hell is this murderous god you refer to? He doesn't hang out in my neighborhood.
